Your questions answered by our expert, Lucian Ion, FRCS(Plast)
I had a rhinoplasty 10 months ago but have developed 2 nodes on either side of my nose, giving my nose a wider appearance as opposed to the straight, narrow nose I naturally had.
Would you be able to tell me if I could have revision rhinoplasty to fix this- would it occur again?
How many revision rhinoplasty's have you performed?
From your description, it sounds like you had reduction of the cartridges of the tip of the nose (cephalic trim of the alar cartilages), but insufficient removal of the scroll cartilage which is now prominent on both sides.
There is no way I can make a statement with certainty regarding what could be awkward and be corrected in the absence of clinical examination. This would be speculative and inappropriate.
Approximately one third of my work is revision rhinoplasty, which I suspect means I have done close to 200 procedures.
