Is it possible to choose a nose that you want according to someone else's or is it different?

Your questions answered by our surgeon, Lucian Ion, FRCS(Plast)

Asked on 03 August 2010

I'm interesting in having rhinoplasty and I was wondering about the general procedure. First, is it possible to choose a nose that you want according to someone else's or is it different? Also, what are the risks of rhinoplasty and what is the average price (does it all have to be paid at one time or installments?)

Thanks so much for your help!

It is possible to plan the changes and treatment on 2-D or 3-D simulation. The reference for the type in degree of change for each component can be a nasal shape that you like, but it has to be compatible with your facial shape for it to look nice. The characteristics of the nose create limitations as to how much change can be achieved.

In addition, please bear in mind that the results of surgery are always different from the simulation.

You can find out more about the risks of surgery on this website under risks and complicatins of rhinoplasty.
