Is the top bridge of the nose in line with the eyes and whether this area can be drawn down, closer toward the face?

Your questions answered by our surgeon, Lucian Ion, FRCS(Plast)

Question

I am a healthy 23 year old male and I am considering rhinoplasty, as a young age I had an accident which left my nose disfigured (deviating toward one side) and a large bump at the top on the bridge. My questions is regarding the top bridge of the nose in line with the eyes and whether this area can be drawn down, closer toward the face, is this possible? I will be making arrangements to visit the clinic next week as I live in the West Midlands.

Answer

It is possible to reduce the projection in the highest part of the bridge of the nose, but can more difficult, and I sometimes require a lateral x-ray to make sure that the frontal sinuses are not in proximity of the area that we want to reshape.

Sometimes, because the bump on the bridge is high, this skin tents between the forehead and the bump, creating the impression that the top part of the bridge is also prominent. In a situation like this, however, you can feel that the bone in the top part in bridge is more depressed.

I would be happy to examine you and with the assistance of computer imaging to understand what it is you would like to achieve. Based on that, I would be able to formulate advice regarding options for reshaping the nose.
