I have had 3 rhinoplasties in the last 3 years. I am looking to plan my final one in a few months to address an issue I have.

I have an ethnic middle eastern nose. I find the base of the nose to be a bit wide. I also have no tip definition. I would not want to feminise my nose, however I believe I could add definition and narrow the base of the nose a bit with good results.

What sort of procedure does this involve? Could you briefly explain to me how this is done. Would you suture the tip cartilages together to achieve a pointier tip?

For a 4th intervention on the nose, it is first important to try and have a clear direction for the change, which I typically aim to achieve using computer imaging during the consultation, and 2nd to evaluate what is the status of the cartilage support of the nasal tip and the overlying soft tissues.

Although what you describe are the generic interventions for nasal tip refinement, in terms of the exact plan, it needs to be adapted to individual patients and their needs.

The alar base reduction involves removal of a small wedge of nostril tissue, and bringing the nostril rim closer to the midline.
