Question

I am suffering of pemphigus vulgaris (in remission).

I would like to know if I can be a right candidate for a rhinoplasty, my main concern is the bump?

Answer

In the context of pemphigus, I would assume closed rhinoplasty would be more appropriate as there is less trauma to the skin. I don't think I am the best person to help you as most of my work is related to open tip rhinoplasty interventions.

I would suggest discussing this point with someone tends to do closed interventions and see if they feel comfortable to proceed to treatment. One of the concerns regarding the intervention is the common use of tapes over the bridge of the nose with or without a splint. Although an interface protective layer can be applied on the skin of the bridge, there are still the lateral points of fixation that can be problematic.
