Questions & Answers The Surgical Experience About Anaesthesia

I have been thinking of having rhinoplasty done since I was 16.

Your questions answered by our surgeon, Lucian Ion, FRCS(Plast)

I have been thinking of having rhinoplasty done since I was 16 but due to financial problems I thought I would wait until I am a bit older and also due to family members telling me that my face will change, however it did not and here I am 6 years later unhappy more than ever and not able to do anything about it.

I have had consultations in the past but just cannot afford the surgery. I'm not a vain guy with just a little bump on my nose, It is a really hooked nose and I have received years of bullying and name calling which has made me very drawn from society and has affected my confidence.

I have one more year left at university and I just won't be able to face the real world especially in a working environment if I don't get this procedure done, it really will be life changing. Could you help turn my life around?

One option would be for you to discuss with your GP regarding the possibility of corrective surgery being carried out through the NHS.

In addition, it may be possible to have surgery carried out without charges if it is part of a rhinoplasty course or televised program, but I'm afraid I do not have any suitable information in this area.
