With cosmetic surgery, it has been and still is to a great extent an open ended question. But times are changing and technology is helping the interaction between the patient and surgeon, challenging the traditional approach and opening the road for improvement. The advent of 3D photography that over the last 10 years has increased in quality dramatically, has helped doctors initially to understand better the problems they were facing, and to plan the changes. It is now entering the phase where it is starting to help patients understand the problem in much deeper detail, and with the assistance of the surgeon it helps them project and optimise changes. Mr Ion is at the forefront of the effort to integrate in daily practice the spectacular developments offered by new technologies in the field of 3D imaging and the ability to put the patient in the driving seat for explaining their quest but also for understanding what is possible and what is available, and how to best make them work to their advantage. Our practice has been pioneering over the last year the ability to evaluate and plan facial changes along the lines of facial sculpting, rhinoplasty and some aspects of facial rejuvenation. The approach involves a preliminary 3D photograph taken in a dedicated imaging studio, of which the patient keeps their copy. It is then transferred to our offices by disk or electronic transfer, and allows us to generate on computer the shape that reflects the appearance of your face. During the consultation, it gives the patient much deeper insight into the characteristics of their face and neck, and the areas as well as the degree of changes that are contemplated to achieve the desired result. Mr Ion will explain what individual procedures can achieve in terms of extent of changes, and how they can be combined to obtain the desired result. Elements related to the balance of facial features become much more obvious and easy to understand, and experience has shown that the interactive approach motivates patients to get more involved in the planning of the procedure. It is also a very powerful tool to understand the limits of surgical procedures, and helps to avoid situations where by reading information on the Internet, patients may have a distorted representation of the achievable outcome, which is possible sometimes after examining before and after photographs. If you wish to explore this option, contact our office and our team will be happy to assist with additional information or organising a consultation. top pageYour choiceIs cosmetic surgery right for you?
